Didn't Sean Taylor die from his leg injury?
yes....yes he did

looks like he took the old "break a leg" a little too literal...

Not nearly as bad as a shredded knee. They are going to put some plates in it and it will be fine. I'd much rather a broken tib and fib than a ripped up knee.

Prothero did the tib/fib and the guy never played again. I don't know how bad DeAndre Brown's injury was, but he was never close to the same thing either.
Knee surgeries have really improved in the past decade.

Why do people feel the urge to make jokes out of everything? If you do, at least make it funny.

just by reading the reactions, I'm glad I missed it, I've got no desire to ever see it.

I think CBS only showed it twice. They mostly focused on Thornton, Siva, Dieng, and Russ Smith's reactions. I think those were the 4 guys who saw what happened the best, and all of them were really freaked out.
I don't think anyone on TV saw his leg sticking out of the skin. That was only visible to me when someone paused a split second shot, took a photo, and blew it up two or three times in size. On the other hand, I think Thornton and the Cardinals players may have seen it live.

Almost positive this is what happened

Pitino compared it to Michael Bush's injury when he was at Louisville. Said he'd be out for at least a year

If he recovers to the extent Michael Bush did, that would be great. Thinking back, it's kind of crazy that the Raiders picked him in the 4th round after such a gruesome injury.

I was watching with my dad and right after they showed the first replay I felt like I was going to throw up. I told my dad that I saw the guys bone sticking out of his leg and he thought I was crazy. He rewinded it and the look on his face completely changed. That's the only thing that got me. I have seen all the MMA, Prothro, soccer leg breaks, and never been bothered. Seeing that bone protrude out of the skin though was absolutely gruesome. I wish the best for that kid and his future.
Does anyone have a screenshot of the Louisville players laying on the ground. I though they had all collided before they showed the replay. Only then was it evident what they were laying on the floor for. Also thought the Duke guy got hit in the eye. Didn't realize he was trying to look away from what he was seeing.

You know, when I first saw the reactions, I thought some maniac threw tear gas onto the court. The camera shifted away from Thornton once he made the three, so I never saw Ware's injury live. Was wondering what everyone was covering their faces.

I cracked my fibula a month ago playing lacrosse. Thought it was a calf injury so I tried playing basketball on it. 3 steps into jogging and it snapped. A poster earlier described the sound as a gunshot, my GF heard it snap across the gym.
ETA- the snap was 3 days after the crack

That can't be as bad as the guy whose knee gave out in the nba. Can't remember his name but it was horrible. Leg bent in a way it should not.
Shawn Livingston was his name.
