LeBron would have been happy to let someone else shoot.

That's why Jimmy > LeBron

This one is probably less remembered

NC State vs Ohio State

NC State was driving at the end of the game and were on about the 4 yard line. Pretty sure a TD would have won the game and Chuck Amato calls something like 3 consecutive QB sneaks with Philip Rivers at QB

It was one of the worst things I've ever seen

The Wolfpack benefited from Ohio State mistakes on their final possession. The Buckeyes _ who finished with five turnovers and 129 penalty yards _ were flagged for offsides, facemasking and defensive holding as the Wolfpack moved to a first down at the 4.

Rivers kept for 2 yards, then his pass for Hall was wide. Rivers picked up a half-yard on another keeper before both teams took timeouts to assess the fourth-down play from just outside the 1.

With four receivers split out wide, McLendon took a pitch from Rivers and cut back off left tackle. He made contact with linebacker A.J. Hawk, but it was Allen's shoulder that prevented him from tying the game.

So first down and goal from the 4 yard line and you run 2 QB sneaks with the 4 plays you have to score and Philip Rivers at QB

Will Allen made a GREAT hit on that last play to stop McLendon dead in his tracks.

Trying to win the game is a bad decision?

An almost-certain PAT attempt guaranteeing you the NC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

taking an unnecessary risk that can and in fact does lose the NC -- the ultimate goal in CFB, not one individual game

So he is supposed to choose to not win? That makes ZERO sense.

I couldn't disagree more on the Tom Osborne call. Not a lot of people would have the guts to attempt that.

How could you even consider purposely not winning, why even show up to the stadium if you don't want to win.

Pretty much the whole gameplan for lsu on 1/9/12

I agree with this. The game plan for that game was the worst ever. The LSU Tigers should never have gotten off of the bus with that game plan. They did not deserve to be in the arena that evening with that game plan.

Jimmy Chitwood as a decoy?

No, leaving Roy Hobbs on the bench until it was almost too late. Could have run away with the pennant had he played earlier.

The answer is Jordan Jefferson 1/9. Leaving him in and not giving lee a shot was a huge boneheaded anti-try-anything-to-win move.

I hate 1/9.

Taking Reggie Bush off the field for a 4th and 2 that would ice the game, so the sips know Lenwhale is getting the ball and they can key on him.

Hat/JJ Simply baffling.

Another obscure one IMO was Fassel not deferring the kickoff in the 2000 Super Bowl. The Raven script that year was to stuff opening drives/receive punt/stall with their anemic offense/punt/pin teams inside the 10 and proceed to demoralize. They might well still have won that game but I thought that move guaranteed it.

Honorable mention: Kilmer leaving Billy Bob in.
