If I were a college football player, I would want to go to a bowl that is in a town with a nice climate, with plenty of cool stuff to do for the week that I was there. I would like to maybe play in a cool stadium and maybe be in a town with cool sights to check out.

That having been said, could there be any worse bowl to go to than the Compass Bowl in Birmingham?? What the hell is there fun to do in Birmingham for a week at the end of December? And Legion Field might be the biggest shithole that ever existed and its in a crappy neighborhood. Who could possibly get excited about going there for a bowl?

My top 5 worst bowl sites:

1) Birmingham
2) Mobile
3) El Paso
4) Charlotte
5) Shreveport

Unless someone can convince me otherwise that these places would be great to visit in December/January....

SUN bowl is the worst.

Every year you hear the players and teams complaining.

Just the worst.

What a dump.

Boise is cold....but at least they have mountains...mountains might be cool for some guys that have never seen mountains before? I almost put Boise on the list though...it does seem like it would suck

I agree with you about the stadium, but there is plenty to do around here. Maybe not for the typical college aged kids, but it could be worse.

So what do the players do there for the whole week when they come for the bowl?

Shreveport has casinos. That takes them out if the top 5.

That probably half of the team can't get into, making it suck even more.

Shreveport really does try to show the teams a good time.

Good list, but Shreveport is by far the worst of those for me.

El Paso has a good climate and is scenic at least.
Mobile has the beach close by. Potential for nice weather.
Charlotte is at least a big city.
Birmingham is bad, but not as bad as Shreveport.

Others:
Detroit would suck pretty bad.

Legion Field

Since we are bringing facilities into the mix, the Beef O Brady's Bowl in St. Pete would suck.
