Wash is fricking awesome. Great guy.

damn I feel bad for Wash. You can see in his face that he's crushed. I can't imagine losing the world series last year only to make it back and 1 strike away only to lose again. Thats got to be awful.

This win is more satisfying than the 82 series but sting from 85 is never going to leave. 87 was a team like this one just couldn't win in the Dome though. Pendleton hitting cleanup for a hurt Clark, I wonder if it would have mattered though.

I had to turn it off. What did Wash say?

Wash is a stand up guy, he sold me when he admitted to the coke thing. I respect him a bunch.

ehh just the normal stuff you'd expect
Proud of my guys.
Cardinals earned this one and they're World Champs
He wishes he could take back 1 pitch in this world series
They're gonna fight to make it back next year
He looked rough though. Almost on the verge of tears.

I'll have to look it up on MLB.com tomorrow.

Our one chance to finally become a successful franchise and we blew it.
Early predictions for next year:
1. CJ signs with another team, Rangers don't find anyone to replace him. (No free agent pitcher wants to play at RBIA, and the Rangers have nothing in the minor league system.)
2. Wash fired by the All-Star break. (A players' manager only works when things are good; and the Rangers won't be next year -- see last prediction below.)
3. Josh traded before July deadline, if not during spring training. (Young is safe because no one will take his salary for two years.)
4. Rangers miss playoffs, maybe return by 2025. (The NBA lockout may be ended by then. Jerry Jones will still be alive and the Cowboys will still suck. The Stars will have relocated to Seattle by then.)
5. Rangers announce long-term agreement with Tulane and Baylor for tarp purchases.
OK the last one is a

The 85 Cardinals were probably best team since the 60's. The 87 Cards didn't have a dominator on the hill really, a bunch of good pitchers. The 82 Cards played a 7 inning game then it was Sutter time.
As far as offense once they got on base it was a 4x100 team, they wouldn't stop unless Whitey or Lanier gave them the sign to stop.
ETA:
The best thing to happen was David Green got hurt brought up McGhee

I would cry too if I was nearly 60 and facing being out of work by the 2012 All-Star Game.

As a Brewers fan I'm completely sickened by this whole turn of events. I feel for the Rangers fans who have to be twice as sickened as I am.

They will be competitive for years to come.
Goals for the offseason include:
1) getting a better pitching staff
2) getting a real 1st baseman
3) locking ron washington in an abandoned house and lighting it on fire
Then it's smooth sailing.

I feel bad that the Brewers are showing signs of success only to see the face of your team (Prince) probably leave in free agency. Not that the Brewers won't try to keep him; I just see him going for the big $$$ (probably with Dean's beloved Angels).

He's basically said he's gone without fully coming out and saying it

They have nothing in the minors and no one to replace CJ's 16 wins this season. (And don't be like my supervisor and tell me Feldman can do it, he can't stay healthy)

Won't happen. RBIA is a hitter's ballpark. No quality pitcher wants to come here.

getting a real 1st baseman
Don't want Fielder (postseason numbers are way below regular season numbers) and Pujols is staying with the Cards (talked to way too many people who believe this, one said that he and the team were very close to a deal before spring training ended).

He'll be gone by the All-Star break next year when the Rangers revert to their perennial cellar-dweller status.
