Here's the deal. TORONTO HITS They can and will beat the Dodgers if the Dodgers don't score a lot of runs.

And they better not sleep on Gausman breaking it off…

You are aware that long layoffs aren’t always beneficial to keeping momentum, your routines and mindset when you’ve been locked in previously.

Fluke game to be honest. But it counts all the same. They took advantage of a well rested team as they should’ve and rode the emotion of the crowd while Snell wasn’t sharp from the get go. If they beat Yamamoto tomorrow (IMO he’s the best Dodgers pitcher and trustworthy in these situations) I’ll have concerns about the series. I didn’t expect a sweep. I figured 5 games because the Dodgers handled them pretty easily earlier this year. I think they lit a fire under the Dodgers asses by making it personal with the “we don’t need you chants” and the pettiness of reviewing the attempted pickoff to make Shohei the final out of a game that was already decided. Those were both dumb things to do. Save that chant for when you’re about to win the championship.. not game 1 when it can and will be used against you in all future games.

nah. I’m just not going to overreact to what was basically one inning from hell. After tonight’s game that could change. I’ll be here one way or the other eating crow or celebrating.

Alex Vesia was sorely missed in that inning. He's gotten the Dodgers out of a lot of bases loaded jams like that one. Hope everything is ok with his family situation. Dodgers just have to flush it and move on. If Yamamoto has an off night then I'll start to get concerned.

My gut reaction was that it had to do with a child. I have no idea if they have kids but “deeply personal matter”… that screamed the health of a child to me and I hope that isn’t the case. If it were a divorce I’d be out there playing.

100%. I’m glad they’re a veteran team because they should be able to do exactly that.

I totally agree. He’s the guy I trust the most on the staff. Battle tested in big games and he’s delivered. I think Snell will move on quickly from this assuming we get to game 5.
