At this point it might be a better strategy to send the US’s top pitchers with and up and coming lineup that still has some grit. The veteran guys who average .220 with 40 homers ain’t the ticket.

Agreed. US didn’t play that great and got this far by great pitching. Bats were still too cold. It’s not rocket science.

They do, but the rules of the WBC prohibited our best arms. Mason Miller couldn’t pitch for example.
