With NIL/TP, is it time to create a small school NC for the non-Power 5 schools?

With all the money and top notch facilities of the Power 5 schools, I think it's safe to say the smaller conference schools are nothing more than window dressing in the grand scheme of things. Could one smaller school have that one dream season and compete with the big boys? Sure, but maybe their could be certain stipulations that would allow that team to qualify to play in the "big boy" NC playoff.
The reality now is the smaller schools stand little to no chance of ever winning a NC or even competing at that level under the current setup. With a plethora of meaningless bowl games out there, maybe the bowls could be split up and each bowl game could play some role in both playoffs and give these meaningless bowl games a much needed boost and allow fans to attend a game that actually means something.
Hey, it couldn't be any worse than the current setup!

in time!
Eventually Power 5 teams will band together and have their own championships
Non power 5 can have their own playoffs as well
Power 5 has been funding mid majors all this time so where will they get their paydays going forward?
not to mention all the smaller sports that most athletic departments will not be able to afford anymore and athletic staffing is going to have to right size - every team doesn't need a social media team either

No…
But it might be time to go to a promotion/relegation system

I agree because the Power 5 are on another planet and the smaller schools are just spectators and have no chance of ever being relevant. The smaller schools also know if they do have any great players, the Power 5 schools are going to continue raiding its roster.
I think having a smaller NC playoff would help reignite the smaller programs and its fans base, simply because they know winning a NC is now a realistic goal.

I think a mid major beating a power 5 is bigger deal than a lower level national championship. Everyone remembers App State beating Michigan. Only the biggest CFB fans remember who they beat to win the 1-AA title that same season.
Is the best Sun Belt team playing the best MAC team in a bowl game any worse than them playing in a little league national title game? If so, why has every good FCS program outside the Missouri Valley and Big Sky fled for FBS over the past 10 years?

Ask a Tulane fan, they never want to admit that they’re minor league… but they are

Valid point, but you're talking about a once-in-a-lifetime event, whereas chasing a NC every year would give all the smaller schools a realistic chance of accomplishing something that is clearly out of its reach right now.
Many, many years ago, my middle school team won the Catholic school championship and we still talk about that today. We knew if we played against the city league teams we would get demolished, but that didn't take away the excitement we got to experience and a memory we will never forget!
