They need to not let batters step out of the box and stop shifts

Also limit mound visits even more

If they did that they could shave 10-15 minutes off

Baseball needs to be a 2:30 long game

As someone who gets to catch games at Fenway throughout the season and watch the returning World Champions, I still downvoted.

Same reason NFL does not matter until Super Bowl. Nobody cares and there are too many flukes that do not know how to win when it counts to get there.

Except for the very few baseball nuts, baseball is the sport where you make merely a handful of the 162 games. You go with friends because it's a nice day out.

The day is free and you'd like to drink beer, eat a hotdog, peanuts, and nachos. You chat about things and what you want to do that night while maybe watching one full inning of play. I wouldn't even say that people "casually" watch.

In short, it's nothing more than a 3, 4 hour gap filler. Most people truly could care less about it. They can take it or leave it, and they sure aren't getting worked up over their local team winning or losing.

It truly is a diversion for long, lazy spring and summer days.
