Yeah the Yankees were great in the mid-late ninetees but after like 2000 there wasn’t a Yankees dynasty. The Red Sox owned them.

2009 was not part of the run that started in 1996. The player who had the series clinching RBI in 1996 was the manager in 2009 for gods sake. It was a dynasty from 1996-2001. 2009 was just a stand-alone championship

2003
Yankees finished 6 games ahead of the Red Sox
2004
Yankees finished 3 games ahead of the Red Sox
2005
Yankees and Red Sox finished tied for the division, Yankees won tie-breaker
2006
Yankees finished 11 games ahead of the Red Sox
2007
Red Sox finished 2 games ahead of the Yankees
2008
Red Sox finished 6 games ahead of the Yankees
2009
Yankees finished 9 games ahead of the Yankees

I like college sports better but never compare college achievements to pro. You see what happened to Saban when he tried didn’t you? Head coaching in pro football chewed him up and spit him out. As a HC you just can’t gain the advantage in pro that you can in college with money, brand, cheating all resulting in a massive talent gap. In the pros you have to out think, out manage and out coach every team all the time. The best college coach in a very long time couldn’t handle the job for more than 2 years. And people can say if this or if that but I know guys that worked and played in that organization and provided security for agents who were right there to some of the better players on that team and they all say what I said above.

Anyone who doesn't think the Yankees were a dynasty at this time but believes the Braves were during their run is foolish.

I don’t believe the braves were a dynasty

From 96 to 2009 the Yankees won
5 World Series
7 AL Pennants
11 division titles
2 Wild Card Berths
Essentially in 14 years, the Yankees won all of this.
The seems like a dynasty to me, especially compared to any other team during the span.
