Possibly but that doesnt make Belicheck overrated or dumb for putting him out there

Its not like there is someone better riding the bench or out there in free agency he could get

As for the question of if Bellichik is overrated, I think the answer is slightly. As an Xs and Os coach he's as good as any that's ever coached the game. His gameplans are simply ingenius.

The aspect of his game that is overrated, and it's interesting because everyone lauds him for it is his drafting. This is so obvious when you look at the scrubs he's got on his defense. I'm all for compiling picks, but he could use some talent injection on that side of the ball.

I see what your saying to an extent but his situation is different than most in the league for a good reason.

Hes picked in the back half of the 1st round for a full decade so that takes out the elite pass rushers and defenders than are hard to find in this league

He also consistantly has more picks each year than any other teams in the league. More picks = more likelyhood of misses

If he was really a bad draft guy than he wouldnt have all those Superbowls and playoff appearances. He also would have bombed the year Brady got hurt (a la the Colts this year)

For every guy that busts out (Meriwhether, Maroney) there are two guys that he picks up late or undrafted that become huge contributers (Edleman, Dederick, Kyle Love, Slater)

And this is why Belichick isn't overrated. If a member of the Patriots was stupid enough to utter such retarded bulletin board material, he would be punished pretty harshly.

Manningham for all intent and purposes shat all over Edleman for no reason. Why would you throw that sort of bone to the opponent, for yet again, no reason. Everyone knows Edleman will be the weak point if he's on the field, so why give him any motivation?

Unfortunately for you, Belicheck doesn't make all the drafting decisions, he isn't the GM.

I feel like he has done a great job, maybe not this regular season as a whole, but his defense hasn't exactly been a liability in the postseason. Yeah they gave up some yards in the postseason, and Lee Evans COULD have caught that pass, but the ball also went through Kevin Walters' hands in the Divisional Round, coulda, woulda, shoulda, shite happens and they are in the SB b/c of the defense stopping teams, whether you like it or not.

If you need extra motivation in the super bowl you're in the wrong profession.

Oh how wrong you are. He is the GM, he just doesnt have the title, and he make mosts if not all decisons

Edelman will need a lot more than "focus" to cover cruz or nicks or manningham. Eli will pick edelman apart whenever hes on the field.

I guess well see

Good luck defending Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez though while also not forgetting Branch Woodhead, or the run game

Well, we already did this once this year before our d was firing on all cylinders in new england to end a 20 game home win streak. I think its gonna be a great game that comes down to the wire like 07. Hopefully with the same results.

Eta: hernandez was out the first time correct?

I wouldnt put to much stock in that game. We also werent firing at all cylinders in that game and we were controlling your offense until the 3rd quarter when about three of our defenders got hurt. But again i wouldnt put much stock into that game either way because both teams were banged up and playing bad football at the time

Its going to be a great game i agree

I personally think its gonna come down to which team can get more pressure on the qb. If brady and eli have time, its gonna be a long day for both teams d.

If Wilfork and Anderson play like they did last week than thats very possible

And the way Ive heard Matt Light and the other Olineman talk about the game, I think they are ready to play awesome this game

I also think the Gameplan will be a lot better this time around with quicker throws and outlets, more running and also a lot more up tempo offense

When we went true no huddle in that week 9 matchup, they couldnt substitute and we went right down the field and scored. Thats going to be a big factor in the game

Shut down the best rushing team in the league, we focused on the run so yeah Hes goin to have a big game when we have most of our guys in the box
