Will NIL deals reduce decommits?

I dont know how the deals are being structured, but I suppose they could put some language in the contract that would require a commit to repay any money he received up front if he doesn't actually report to the team he originally committed to.

These deals aren’t supposed to be allowed as you describe. The money changing hands before the recruit is on campus and enrolled and attending class is a clear level one violation.

Since there is no NIL contract, the athlete can feast and flee if he chooses, at anytime, with no recourse.

Don't know about reducing decommits..but it sure as hell has reduced COMMITS!

I read an article a couple months ago where high school coaches were advising players to commit early. It has been reported that the 2022 class had roughly 550 less commits, less scholarships, than previous classes.

That would be the extra COVID year and the transfer portal… P5 coaches want older teams
