A game of soccer that ends 2-1 is not considered high scoring either...

Excuse me, I would consider it high scoring since I see an inordinate amount of 1-0 and 0-0 games in box scores.

In that case, 2-1 seems like a barnburner.

the flopping and the whining and crying bugs the shite outta me. I know people flop in the NBA, but they don't whine and cry like the worlds coming to an end like soccer players do.

The gay arse refs holding up a shiny card when you do something mean is reason enough to hate it.

I dont mind girls playing soccer it gives them nice legs.. Thats said.. Its a pussy sport.

Its so ghey they had to make a rule so the players would stop touching the balls.

I don't hate soccer it was just not very popular around here for years. The local school didn't even have a team until about 15 years ago and they finally made an actual soccer field about 5 years ago. I don't think it is hate so much as not being as familiar with it as other sports over the years. I do believe it is growing in popularity more and more.

my point was, using your actions on the field to manipulate your opponent and the referees future decisions is not exclusive to soccer

but what frustrates me is the extent to which the international soccer player takes it.

Rolling on the ground in agony only to jump up as soon as a card is issued is not enjoyable to watch as a fan

Football - throw bean bag flags

Hockey - sit in timeout

Basketball - Ref plays cherades to indicate the foul

Baseball - lol there are no fouls

An inordinate amount is hyperbolic. And I've watched plenty of 1-0 and 0-0 games that were extremely exciting, and others that were boring. I've watched some 2-1 games that weren't noteworthy.

Everyone likes goals, but I think what separates soccer fans from those who are ambivalent, apathetic, or antagonistic to it is the ability to enjoy the build up to goals or near goals, and not the actual goals themselves.

Only to come back in 2 minutes to beat the shite out of the guy.

Now if they added that to soccer I would be a huge fan

i agree

i think its dumb too

however, there is a lot of jumping, kicking, diving, etc.

ppl do really get hurt.

Unfortunately, the nature of how important Penaly kicks are, combined with the subjectivity by the refs used when dives/tackles/flops are made in the box, means that a striker will always flop if their run ends inside the box and they got some contact

it would be dumb not to

Most hockey fights are swing and miss until they fall down and then the ref jumps in.

I like hockey though.

well flopping when trying to score in the box to get a penalty kick is one thing...

Flopping at mid field for no real reason other than trying to get the other guy a card...bad
