Soccer > American football, and no amount of denying it changes the simple fact.

Honestly, I don't think any sport is better than any other. There are different things to appreciate about each.

One of the big things I like about soccer is that I KNOW it will be over in two hours, with pre-game and halftime.

There is nothing I hate more than:

3rd Down - Run 1 yard. Injury.
Timeout - Commercial
Punt - Fair Catch. Change of Possession.
Timeout - Commercial.
1st Down. Incomplete pass. End of Quarter.
Timeout - Commercial.
2nd Down. 2 yard run.
3rd Down. 4 yard slant.
Punt - 3 yard return. Change of Possession.
Timeout - Commercial.

frick that noise. And you know that happens all the time, especially on that CBS 2:30 game, and the BCS games.

I froze my nuts at the LSU-Arkansas game in 2007. After 1 frickING HOUR AND 30 MINUTES, there was still 5:15 left to play IN THE FIRST frickING QUARTER.

Football would be much more enjoyable without television.

Here you all go, I'll put it so we all understand -

Some people like soft porn, some hard-core. Some dig S&M, some golden showers. Some guys wanna be dressed up like a baby, and spanked for being bad. It's different strokes for different folks. Disliking one sport while the rest of the world loves it, does not make you inferior. You're just into different shite.

i'm sure there are plenty of people that don't like american football. i'm not going to whine, complain, or care that they don't like it.

True.
But then why would people hate on soccer or people that like it?
I don't hear anyone here calling out the S&M and golden shower folks?

there are millions of people that find baseball incredibly boring.

baseball is my favorite sport to watch. i was best at baseball and i understand baseball much more than any other sport so i enjoy it much more than others.

i don't get all hot and bothered that many people don't like it.

i enjoy lsu baseball success more than lsu football success.

Everytime a football is put into play, there is a chance for someone to take it to the house. This is not the case with soccer. They spend greater than 50% of the time with no realistic chance to score. I might even say higher than that and yes i do watch the occasional soccer match. I watched with a passion the womens soccer when the girl scored and took her shirt off. I watched that entire game so I have some experience with it. Not alot but some

I think this and any other "my sport is better than yours" thread should be whacked. I am now less intelligent for having read and posted in this thread.

I'm just f'ing with you. I still like football, just not as much as I did before I started watching soccer. IN MY OPINION, soccer is more entertaining than football, but most people won't give it a chance b/c at first glance it seems boring.

I personally just prefer the continuous flow of soccer. That's without even getting into the fact that the whole world plays it, so there's always something interesting (if you like soccer) to follow.

And no, it doesn't annoy me that people don't like soccer.

why do pro-soccer folks get so pissy when someone says they don't like soccer?

I know that. I just mean in general.
This is not the first soccer debate on TD.
I agree with your post about the piss and whips.

i don't get why people don't just watch what they want and leave other people to do the same

certain things about each sport are better than others. i enjoy the explosive plays in football and basketball much the same way i enjoy a walk off homerun in baseball

Maybe, but it just doesn't do much for me, watching a guy carry a ball in his hands while he runs, when you've watched people kick a ball 50 yards to another guy who "catches" it in stride and then does his own magic with it. But I didn't start seeing that until I watched it for awhile.
