so if I was stranded on a island with my dog and ate him cause I have nothing else to eat, should I be sent to prison or executed?

I can see the difference. What Stallworth did was a million times worse. frick intent.

stallworth deserves his punishment but its in no way comparable to what Vick did.

No shite. It's way, way worse. I have driven drunk way too many times and am lucky I never killed anybody. But if I had, frick me. I should have gone to jail longer than Vick did.

I'm fine with the coverage of both stories, but some of you trying to actually argue that what Vick did was worse is fricking baffling.

It's because they're stupid, that's the only reason. Anybody outraged by what Vick did who eats, beef, venison, pork, or chicken is a fricking hypocrite. Period. I am in this group btw, but at least I am well aware of my hypocrisy.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize Vick and co were grilling these dogs after they fought to the death.

BTW, despite the outrage, Vick spent, what, a year and change in jail? And he'll be back in the league at some point. Where is Rae Carruth these days?

Let me say a few things right now: First, I said that there should be a prohibition in America becuase there are too many idiots who drive drunk and kill innocent people because they made stupid decisions . . . Drinking does no good whatsoever, all it does is bring out the worst in people and lead to many horrible things like death. When you drink and get behind the wheel of a vehicle, you are saying that you have no regard for your own life or any human life at all.

Secondly, You complete morons who say that torturing dogs intenionlly is such a bad thing - you all are liberal, left wing pansies who need to get a life. The bottom line is that if I want to go outside and hang my dog from a tree, I can because it is my property. We shoot deer, turkey, duck, and other game all the time. If someone wants to do the same to their dog, it is their decision. Mike Vick did do wrong because he was illegally gambling on the dog fights; however, saying that what he did was anywhere close to comparable to the killing of a human is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

If Michael Vick killed 5 of their dogs and Stallworth killed one of their family member I wonder who'd they'd be more upset at. I wonder which would matter to them more. What Vick did don't compare to what Stallworth did. Stallworth needs to be banned from the NFL along with Pacman.

Are we talking about dogs being more important than humans???...Our society sucks and For all the ppl that believe Stallworth will get a bigger penalty than Vick-- Remeber Leonard Little?

quote:

After attending a drunken birthday party in 1998, Little crashed into and killed another motorist, Susan Gutweiler in St. Louis, MO. When tested, his blood alcohol level measured 0.19 percent, a level that exceeds the statutory level of intoxication of 0.08 in the state of Missouri. Little received 90 days in jail, four years probation and 1000 hours of community service.

(Different states have different laws but Little got off pretty easy)

I dont understand how ppl bring up intent..He drank and got into a car he should be reponsible for his consequences of killing a human and that is way worse than killing a dog with intent

And he will be. He is going to jail alot longer than Vick.

W/ that said...while killing a human is terrible..and def. stupid while drinking and driving....no one ever chooses to do that (you make impaired stupid decisions when drunk..but not to purposely murder)

Electrocuting dogs and torturing them for no reason besides losing a fight takes alot sicker mind to do.

IMO, there's three main reasons:

1. Vick is a star, Stallworth's not.
2. Vick's actions were intentional and frequent, Stallworth was accidental and a 1 time incident.
3. Hate to say it, but I'd say many more people have driven drunk in their life than participated in dog fighting.
