Indeed
I can get drunk and hit and old man crossing the street but I can't kill dogs.
Stallworth's crime was one of negligence and accident. Vick's was 100% intentional. Though Stallworth's result was far worse, it can be argued that Vick's crime was worse. I, however, would argue that since Stallworth's crime included DUI, his was worse than Vick's.
If Stallworth had been completely sober and had accidentally killed someone with his car, I would consider his crime not as bad as Vick's.

And go to jail for 10 years compared to 2

You are confusing newsworthiness with importance.

The thread question was

I'm referring more to the court of public opinion and media coverage than to the court of law.

Public opinion goes by what we are use to. We all have known someone who has been in a drunk driving wreck and died. (Or you atleast know someone hwo knows someone). We are use to drunk driving wrecks. Everyone knows it's wrong..but it really doesn't stand out because it happens every day in America.
On the other hand. We aren't use to Superstar athletes willingly and knowingly torturing dogs and then killing them. That's not something you hear everyday. So of course it's going to be a bigger news story.

What do you not get?
Vick going to jail is a much bigger story than Stallworth.

Donte Stallworth's crime is much worse than Vick's b/c Vick really didn't do much wrong. He intentionally killed some dogs, cry me a freakin river. Anytime you drink, you are knowinly takin the chance of killing someone b/c you do stupid stuff when you drink. This country would be so much better with prohibition.

That's what I don't get.
If Stallworth had killed puppies with his bare hands and Vick had killed a guy while driving drunk I think the puppy killer is still villified.
Ray Lewis and Leonard Little agree with me.

Dude....Vick was a HUGE star.
Stallworth is a journeyman WR that barely stays on the field.
ESPN isnt gonna spend all day talking about some guy that isnt a household name.

He's facing a maximum of 15 years. He's going to get it worse than Vick. So the media doesn't cover it very much. It's because no one gives a frick about Stallworth.

I just think killing a person is worse than killing a few dogs.
quote:
Accidentally killing a person is way different from purposefully killing 40 dogs and abusing way more. We're all capable of negligent vehicular homicide (whether sober or drunk); I don't think most of us could bring ourselves to treating dogs like that for fun.
How Hendo does not comprehend this is beyond me.

wow the idiots in this thread.
There was a story with Vick because there was a story. He ran an organized crime ring. There were tons of facts and details and witnesses, and lying, and cover ups, and things to focus on.
Stallworth got drunk, got in his car, and killed someone... That's the whole story. He doesn't deny it, there's not years of past records and recordings. It's a story, but there's nothing to talk about.
Stallworth will do more time, who cares how much time ESPN talks about it.

If it was McNabb, ESPN would be all over this.
