Why is Turner so good when it comes to sports studio shows

Obviously Inside the NBA is the standard but come MLB playoff time, the Pedro, Rollins, Granderson studio show is leaps and bounds better than Fox trotting out fake A-Rod, bland Jeter and caricature Papi.
For being mainly a non-sports entity, they have done a good job of not only bringing in big names to fill the nostalgic names cache, but they also bring in guys who have great chemistry with one another.
Meanwhile, the worldwide leader in sports tried and failed so many times to create a good studio show, that they gave up and just licensed Inside the NBA.

They aren't worried about representation and trying to make us listen to women talk about sports

Maybe but TNT was 3 black guys and Ernie. I'm not worried about the race, if all minorities can do a better job so be it. It's the women in men's sports that drives me crazy. Even if they know their stuff I, and most guys I know, just don't want to listen to women analyze sports.

This board would’ve melted over Cheryl Miller on TNT in the ‘90s

Because they’re good at it and they think they’re the best guys for the job. They’re not shoehorning in 2 black guys and a Dominican.

I think Turner just does a better job of finding guys who work well together. You can put all the big names you want on a set, but that doesn't mean they're going to be entertaining.
Inside the NBA was great because those guys could give each other hell and Ernie knew when to sit back and let them go. The MLB crew has a lot of that same chemistry.
FOX just feels forced to me. It's like they figured putting Jeter, A-Rod and Ortiz together would automatically make for good television. Turner seems to understand that chemistry matters a hell of a lot more than name recognition.
