re: Why is there not a "FLOP" rule in this stupid soccer tourney?

Only sport I see without it is hockey, and I honestly don't watch enough to say it doesn't happen there
It happens in hockey, but not nearly as much as in basketball and soccer.

i promise getting ur foot stepped on by cleats hurts like hell
This. Sure the rolling around can be excessive, but a lot of this stuff hurts like a bitch for about 20 seconds. Also, when it's 60 minutes into the game, it is a good chance to get a breather.

Exactly. Getting studded on top of the foot is excruciating for about 45 seconds. Literally excruciating. Granted, I've never acted as Mich of a bitch as some of these guys do, but it hurrs a lot worse than you think of you've never played.

Your argument would hold more weight if guys were actually getting stepped on or kicked everytime they went down. They don't.

Soccer is gayer than an Elton John concert in College Station, Texas.

I dont have an argument, bud. Just stating a fact. I am certainly not defending flopping and especially not the theatrics.

I can't comprehend how people don't enjoy soccer. The world cup is maybe the greatest event in sports.

Flopping in the NBA is FAR worse.

Get out of here. A flop in the NBA may mean 2 damn points, maybe 1-2% of the scoring, in soccer, it could mean 50+%. It makes it unwatchable for me.
Don't get me wrong, I HATE flopping in the NBA as well.

You are watching the wrong games or the wrong teams, then. Most matches have less flopping than an NBA game. If you watch a Latin team vs an African team or a Latin or southern European league, then uea there will be lots of flopping.

You may be right, but it seems every Soccer match I have watched has players acting like little bitches when touched. Add that to the fact that there is not much scoring and you have a boring match.

Especially when the studdER is wearing metal studs like the pros do, not the shitty plastic shite you find at Academy.
A good rake down the calf or shin feels pretty awesome, too.
The aspect that people don't consider is that if you get a little knock in a football game, you go to the sideline for two plays, get a shot of Gatorade, let the trainer look at it, and then go back in.
That's not an option in soccer, so sometimes you need to create your own timeout.

Like someone else stated. Flopping in soccer has a much more severe ramifications than in basketball. Spain's lone goal today was from a bullshite flop. Imagine a basketball team that scored all of it's points in a single game from flopping. That would be absurd.

This just isn't true. The amount of flopping you see at the end of a soccer game is worse than you will see in 15 NBA games combined.

The first goal of the world cup was due to a Brazil player flopping to the ground.

Nah. It's really not. Not if you're watching BPL, SPL, Bundesliga, MLS (to a lesser extent), etc. Or international matches between similar nations.

There is more scoring in the average soccer match than the average football game. But there is a lot of excitement other than scoring, as well.

Spain 35(/7) - Netherlands 7(/7) had plenty of scoring.

You start running at your top speed, which I assume is a fast walk, and then let me kick or step on your foot with cleats.. Let's see how you react and how long you stay on the ground.
There is flopping when someone tries to get a call, just like in basketball, or football when players fake injuries. But don't act like some of those guys aren't legitimately in pain sometimes. Especially since you've probably never touched a soccer ball in your life.
Like it or not, soccer will be a top 3 sport in this country in your lifetime, so how about you educate yourself so you don't sound like a fricking inbred when your kids or grand kids are playing the sport they love.

No. The first goal was due to an own goal, the second was a shot from the top of the box. The third was a penalty where a player flopped.
But thanks for talking about a match you obviously didn't watch.
