Obviously this is a flame thread in response to the baseball one last week. The NBA's popularity is increasing, and this has been common knowledge by anyone who knows anything about the league, like it or not, for a couple of years. Just look at the ratings -- the Lakers and Celtics are elite teams, there's a once-in-a-lifetime team in Miami, and Chicago and New York have good teams.

NBA fans are stupid. I went to a game in Boston earlier this year and I was wearing an LSU hat. I had at least 30 people yell at me that the Lakers suck. I guess they didn't realize that they had two LSU players starting that night.

You're just mad about the Heat taking over the league. Ratings will be higher for their finals appearances than most of the recent Lakers' appearances.

yeah, its the fans in Boston that are "stupid" for thinking some one at a NBA game, wearing the same colors of 1 of the most recognizable NBA teams was there to support 2 guys because of where they went to college and not realizing that college 2000 miles away had those colors first

It went both ways but the issue was huge amoung the players union. They were protecting their own.
