I assume bama's overall schedule is tougher than Wisconsin's right? I'm guessing the committee also put emphasis on their overall strength of schedule which you don't account for here.
Not saying I agree or disagree, but that's probably the answer.

They want the 4 best teams. Bama is a much better team than Wisconsin.

On field doesn’t matter. I’m not even sure why they play games, should just take an average of the last 4 years recruiting rankings and put those 4 teams in and skip all the other nonsense

College has always been subjective as frick, why would this be any different? Bama would beat the brakes off Wisconsin so they're in.
