I just googled the max WNBA salary for 2017 and it's $115k lol

1. NBA willing to lose money on it, viewing it as an "investment" to grow interest in basketball.
2. Like almost all women's sports, there's a heavy social engineering component.
The only major women's sports that exists on their own merit are tennis and probably soccer and golf.
