Why does Michael Wilbon sneaker chase the NBA under the guise of "covering" an event

What's he actually covering? He doesn't write...he doesn't do an NBA show anymore that I know of.
...so why is espn probably spending hundreds of thousands dollars a year on per diem and 4-star hotel accomadations for nothing other than to boost his social life.
He's never in the studio for pti during bball season. So why exactly does he have to follow the NBA like a Penny Lane-esque groupie?
Just so he can go to the games and kiss the players asses? Just so he can blow sunshine up the leagues arse at every breath while also eroniously snd ignorantly bashing the network's biggest asset the nfl?

I’m not a huge fan of Wilbon, but he’s never been important enough for me to hate.
However, Wilbon has never slept with my wife. I’m not sure I can say as much for OP.

He is one of the biggest racist on ESPN and that is saying a lot. He goes out of his way to call NFL owners rich, country club white men, etc etc etc. Get him on a rant about the N word and he comes close to losing it,he has the right to use, whites do not.
