How is that scenario in any relevant way comparable to Penn State and Ohio State?

Are you just ignoring where games are played, taking away the biggest home field advantage in sports?

OSU likely doesn't beat Michigan if that game is played @ Michigan. PSU likely doesnt' beat OSU if that game is played @ OSU. OSU beat TWO TOP 10 TEAMS IN THEIR HOUSES IN PRIMETIME

Now tell me how what you posted is even comparable to what is happening
The concept is still exactly the same.

The point is, winning your conference and winning head to head doesn't mean anything when comparing overall resumes.

Ohio State just had the "wrong loss".

What?

I am comparing overall resumes

You are choosing to omit head to head and conference championships for some reason

You're using a 5 loss team to justify your argument when Penn State has only 2 losses. It clearly makes the decision easier.

I agree with lsupride87 that it's not such an easy decision to make.

I'm not omitting them.
The only reason OSU didn't play in the conference championship is because their lone loss on the season came against the wrong team.

If you look at ther resumes overall, OSU's is better. PSU had more losses, including a loss to a bad unranked team, and OSU had more quality wins against ranked opponents.

There is no way you can say PSU's wins and losses are better than OSU's.

Even if you assume that Ohio State has the better resumé, who IS THE BETTER TEAM RIGHT NOW? I don't think it's just a no-brainer that it's Ohio State.

I think Oklahoma is way way overrated and OSU is getting to much credit for that win.

How does no one on this planet grasp that one loss is far superior to two losses?

It's like everyone has gone fricking retarded these last couple weeks.

I used a 5-loss team to help you see why winning your conference isn't the be-all end-all.

I'm with you.

Team A lost twice.
Team B lost once.

This was the issue I was trying to address in this thread

"Everyone in the media keeps saying, regardless of resume, we can all agree OSU is the better team"

Are they?

So we are back to the stone ages again?

Simply look at number of losses?

I never said it is the end all

I said it is part of your overall resume

Yeah, I agree with your argument. I'm not saying Penn State has to be in, but I don't think it's just such an easy decision to leave them out.

Honestly, it's a tough decision and I wouldn't want to be on the committee

Well that's one point, and OSU has better wins than PSU

I feel like i'm taking crazy pills here lately

Agreed

OSU better wins
Less losses

PSU head to head win
Big 10 title
Best individual win

What is so confusing on how someone could see PSU as the better resume?

No one is saying it is, but it's foolish to just think it's completely irrelevant.
