According to the rankings I just read for engineering programs, LSU's was ahead of Tulane's, but I know overall Tulane's education is about an 8 and LSU is about a 5

Just for reference, Forbes 2012 top academic college list has LSU at #299

Congrats on breaking the top 300

Still, pretty big margin between them and ULL

I only ask the question because LSU "fans" shite on Tulane, tech and ULL and then are completely dumbfounded why those student bodies are not wearing purple and gold to school on Friday.

BOOM. I find that LSU fans in general tend to have this mindset that "you have to pull for LSU if you live in Louisiana," but then have this "I don't care" attitude towards every other in-state school when asked to do the same. I personally pull for LSU, but it doesn't ruin my day if they lose; whereas I'm sure LSU fans feel the same about the other in-state schools. The only difference is that we have to answer why we aren't upset that LSU lost.

But the way some LSU people act about academics, you would think they are in the top ten.

No one is comparing ull and lsu academically anyway. He said mentioning lsu and academic in the same sentence is the definition of over-inflate. Your stats proved it.

I'm actually very surprised with that ranking. A public university with the amount of resources on hand that LSU has. With complete and unwavering support from our state...our one and only flagship, is ranked 299? Kind of crazy to think about.

Clearly you missed the point. My reference of the rankings was to point out that the Boats comment wasn't wrong. LSU and ULL are on different levels academically and athletically

It pisses me off even more when it's some TT that didn't even go to LSU that is completely perplexed why I wouldn't root for them. No shite, I was talking with this redneck about something and he asked me a question about Alabama as if I were an LSU fan. I was wearing a green shirt with big white letters that read "TULANE"

Not to mention, they just became a Tier 1 just a few years ago. At one point, they were the longest running Tier 2 state flagship in the country.

And you missed my point. It is fricking disgraceful that LSU, being Louisiana's flagship with tons of money and resources, can only muster a 299th overall ranking.

If you realize how embarrassing that is for LSU, you should probably never bring up LSU's academics.

In case you missed the point, this thread has at least 3 others just like it going on the TR. And it comes up every yr. Same answers. Over & over & over again.
