Why Do People Bash Jacksonville Instead of Miami and Tampa Bay?

The facts:

Jacksonville Jaguars

64,984 avg - 97% capacity - 20th place overall

Miami Dolphins

57,379 avg - 76% capacity - 30th place overall (dead last in capacity)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

55,102 avg - 83% capacity - 31st place overall

Yet I constantly hear from the media, bloggers, commentators, pundits, et al that Jacksonville has the worst fan support in the NFL. There is constant talk of needing to move the team. Cowherd routinely talks of how they can't sell out and how they tarp off the stands.

Why do Miami and Tampa Bay get passes?

Because Jacksonville is an absolutely horrible city with no redeeming qualities. Tampa has at least strip clubs for the media to visit.

Too many professional franchises in that damn State.

Worst state in the Union for a pro sports team.

The tarps are the reason they are at that capacity percentage hoss. Without the tarps they would be worse than the fins

Especially with 19 million people living there.

Yes.

This just goes to further show just how crappy Miami and Tampa Bay supporters are today.

No one travels to Jacksonville for a game. Practically all those in attendance are Jacksonville people. Yet with all the opposing fans that travel to Miami and Tampa for games they still can't get off the bottom of the attendance rankings.

They suck.

Other facts: Jacksonville hasn't had a blackout in over three years and they didn't take advantage of the new rules that allow teams to count up to 85% of tickets for a sell out. Tampa, however, has had several blackouts over the last few years.

The people who continue with the Jax bashing narrative are lazy thinkers.

Yet they still get about 10k more in attendance than Miami and Tampa...

Even if we removed the tarps, and had the capacity at its full 80,000 seats, we would be at 81%, still better than the Dolphins.

Talking shite about the Dolphins is like beating up your grandmother, it's unfair and makes you look like a dbag.

And, if we ever return to field a half-decent, competitive team (which I think we have a chance at doing under the new regime), the tarps will more than likely be removed, and Jacksonville will return to being in the top tier of attendance in all of the NFL, as they were when we were competing for Division Titles in the late '90's-early '00's.

65,000 is not bad at all.

Jacksonville has a decent fan base. They were pretty loud when I went to see the Vikings there, despite the fact that the Vikings were up 14-0 one minute in the game.

I bet the dolphins had good numbers when they were winning 20 years ago.

Anybody that's every been to a game there when the Jaguars have fielded a competetive team, will echo those same sentiments. When there is a decent product on the field, the fans turn out and Jacksonville Municipal Stadium/Alltel Stadium/EverBank Field, is one of the top-10 toughest places to play in the league.

We are just so far from that now, that it's easier for people to say. "LOLOLOLUZLIZUZ JAGS AHAHSHGHSHS" :jagsfan:
