Well, thats how most sports are setup. Some games do mean more than others.

NFL/NBA/MLB playoffs are based on this principle. Same with automatic qualifiers into the NCAA basketball field. And then you have teams from the same conference who have played in the regular season and conference tournament match up in NCAA tournament for who has the right to advance.

I don't think winning should matter either.

It should all just be subjective eye-test.

"Sure, they lost but they looked really good losing."

I think that's the future. I look forward to the day a 4-8 team makes the playoffs...because Conference titles? - that's for Quakers.

Well we are talking about a top 6 or so who each have no more than two losses each, some who are undefeated, so they're all winning

You want conferences and conference championships to be meaningless? Makes no sense to me, but whatever.

Uhmm, it shows you're one of the two best in your conference...

This is even remotely close to true. Quite often a shitty division will put some average 8-4 team against a mbither division with multiple teams with higher records.

Some random 8-4 team who wins a sloppy game getting an auto bid into playoffs one of the reasons I'm against just penciling in the conference champions.

If conference champions are ever automatically in then there needs to be SERIOUS consideration to getting rid of the divisions or allowing the two actual best teams to play in the ccg.
