What was official and unofficial reasons?

The Davis ordeal shouldn’t be on Demps.

Never mind didn’t see thread on bottom of page

The agent and player that demanded a trade in mid season knowing it wouldn’t happen. Paul and Davis tried to force something while not fulfilling their obligation.

Um DD was a terrible GM. He needed to be fired regardless.

What about everything else on his resume as a GM

Davis didn’t have to sign the contract

I get what you’re trying to say, but to act like Demps was the only issue is not completely accurate from what I read on this site.

I just find it odd they pulled the trigger today not earlier if he was a dead man walking.

Perhaps to allow him to network and find another job over AS weekend, as well?

Considering how he wasn’t really the one doing all of the decision making regarding the trades, why does the timing really matter at this point?

He’s been on and off the hot seat for a long time. The Davis trade demand isn’t his fault, but not putting a competitive team around Davis to prevent it from happening is his fault. Once Davis pulled out, the pelicans knew they had another rebuild on their hands, thus a change in leadership is needed

Trade demand came 2 weeks out from the trade deadline. Not exactly the best time to make a GM change.

1. His presser got a bad review?
2. It was too late to do it Wednesday.

The Athletic reported that owner Gayle Benson had enough of Demps last night when he didn't tell her or coach Alvin Gentry (who was also pissed post-game) that Davis had left the arena at halftime. She didn't blame him for the behavior of Davis/Paul but did for that lack of leadership.

It was the last straw, when I assume she was going to wait until the end of the season.
