Does no good to try to draft a 1st round WR while you're in the middle of a rebuild because by the time you're ready to be a legit contender, if that 1st round WR pans out, he's going to be at the end of his rookie deal and commanding $30+ million a year on his 2nd contract

I mean OTs are getting 25-28M/year on their 2nd contracts.

Oh gee, now they have two very good tackles. What a horrible conundrum.

I've come around to how important it is to have elite pass catchers in modern football, but I'll take the elite tackle over the elite WR any day of the year. Top tier offensive tackles are so hard to find because there are not an abundance of 300 pound human beings who can move like that.

fits what Harbaugh would want to do. He is a guy that believes in building both lines and playing physical football, being able to control lines of scrimmage and running the football.

I would contend that the nfl is .. An elite QB league or a pretty good QB with a stellar OLine league the later I think is easier to acquire

Fans are always complaining about having a weak offensive line. Teams with a bad offensive line are very frustrating to watch.

Simultaneously, fans seem to be very averse to drafting lineman early in the draft. It doesn't make sense.

The Texans have invested four 1st round picks, two 2nds, and $137,164,000 guaranteed into an offensive line that leads the league in pressure given up on four man rushes.

Drafting offensive linemen is a crap shoot outside of top of the draft. They felt Alt was that top of the draft type that you can't pass up on. But once you get outside of the top 5-10 picks I get why fans hate drafting them.
