Swisher over Ortiz is a lot more reasonable than Tek over Teix.
Only because Ortiz is quite possibly in decline for good... not that Swisher is going to hit over .300 for the season.

Exactly there are tons of different variables in determining a player's worth. To say "OMG VARITEK IS HITTING BETTER THAN TEX 20 GAMES INTO THE SEASON WTF LOLZ!" is flat out retarded.

Yeah, I realize it's a stupid argument. But it makes just as much, if not more, sense than comparing Varitek to Teixeira at this point of the season. Swisher's numbers are miles ahead of Ortiz's as of today while Tek's are merely comparable to Tex's.
