If Oregon or Auburn lost, but not both, I'd put TCU in the title game as an undefeated team vs Ore/Auburn. But I think that Wisconsin would beat TCU head to head, just my opinion.

If either lose IMO Wisky should go.
If Auburn doesn't win in the last week of the season they don't deserve to be there. Much like how I didn't think LSU in 07 deserved to pass over a VT team who was higher starting the weekend, and beat a higher ranked team in the ACC title game.
I know LSU ran roughshod over VT that year, but if you think LSU is better, rank them better going into a week so you don't look dumb after

So in your system, you would penalise Auburn for playing 1 more game than Wisconsin, having more wins, same # of losses, and a SoS that's about 70 spots higher than Wisconsin?
I just wish every conference would play a championship game. At least next year the Big 10 and Pac 12 will play one, while the Big 12 takes a step backwards.

If Auburn loses, they should still play over TCU

I've got TCU, then WIsconsin, then Oklahoma if they win, then Ohio State then Stanford, I am not at all sold on that Stanford team. They played one good half with Oregon.
If AU and OU lose, I say Auburn and TCU, though the conference champ argument does hold weight as Oregon can lose to OSU and still be PAC 10 Champ.

So Auburn should be punished because they play their toughest game (in theory) the last game of the season and Wisconsin played theirs in October?

I think if Org Loses to Org state (a team that TCU beat) TCU should get the shot.
If Aub loses by less then 21, Aub should still go to the NC. If they lose by more than 21 to a 3 loss team TCU gets their spot.
However, I think with the PR nightmare at Aub with Cam, any loss by Aub will force them out of the NC and TCU will get the spot, voters dont want to see Aub awarded a title that has to be later stripped away.

No one forced the SEC to play a conference title game. Why should you punish a Big Ten team because the SEC decided to make more money?
That game is a mere formality anyway. How many upsets have there been? LSU over UT in 2001. I can't think of anymore.
