Who had the better career PJ - Tom Watson or Arnold Palmer?

Tom was an alcoholic and divorced. Arnold smoked and cheated on his wife. The real question is if either of them ever spit on the course.

It came up on the msn feed of my browser main page interestingly enough so I thought I’d post it.

the article kind of contradicts itself and its conclusion isn't really supported by the rest of the article. They conclude it's not close but give Tiger the edge in almost every category they analyzed. The conclusion doesn't even make sense. They say that Tiger would only need 2 major wins and 8 tournament wins to pass Jack as goat. How is that not close? Their field argument also doesn't make sense if Tiger only needs 2 more. If Tiger played against a weaker field, as they allege, then one would surmise he'd need more than 18 to match Jack
My thoughts as well. “It’s not close but here’s how a washed up 42 year old Woods can still pass Jack.” Regardless of which player you pick it, nobody can say it’s not close. Honestly tiger has said himself it’s all about majors. His career has fallen short of his own expectations. Because of that it’s fair to say that Jack is still on top and I don’t think tiger would challenge that. Fortunately for tiger every other aspect of his career was so legendary that he will inevitably be viewed as the greatest golfer ever despite failing to live up to his own standard.

Watson to Palmer

I want to say Palmer off legend status but I’m not going to even try to claim I know enough about Palmer or Watson as I wasn’t Watson fan and too young to watched Arnie. So I’ll say Curtis Strange just because he looked like Bobby Knight.

The GOAT!
Jack!

Also, if the current pros are in awe, that should say something as well.
Current Pros in awe of Jack’s records!
