Florida State is always overhyped and ALWAYS choke well before making it to Omaha even when they're a #1 seed in their regional, or a top national seed. I don't think they're hated, though. That's the best I could get.

i will say it again for those actually considering this. absolutely no one cares about college baseball. this site fools people into believing that everyone in the country cares but that is so wrong.

The only hated I could see is Texas, but that's just because they're Texas. Same dislike they get in every sport

No one needed you to say it again, just as no one needed you to say it the first time.

You seem to have made up an argument that people that are college baseball fans think that everyone around the country cares about it. You're too ignorant to realize that college baseball fans are fully aware of the amount of support the sport gets around the country.

If you feel it's necessary to share your made up arguments, do so in another thread.

sorry. there cant be a nd football or duke basketball equivalent of anything in college baseball if no one cares about it. the whole premise of the thread/topic is centered on media and fan perceptions of programs and players. when that doesnt actually exist on an even relatively large scale, no conclusions can be made. in that sense, the fact that no one cares about college baseball is very relevant to this thread and actually the deciding factor in its demise.

As long as you keep saying that "no one cares", you're going to sound like an idiot. That's more ignorant than the imaginary people you talked about that think everyone is a college baseball fan.

And yes, there can be a Duke or ND of college baseball, just like there can be one of hockey, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, and any other sport that is played.

You seem to have some inborn hatred of college baseball so you project that everyone else does as well. But that is not the case. Some people do care about it, and some media do cover it. Scale is irrelevant.

Sure college baseball is a small bubble...but why can't there be a Duke or ND inside that bubble fanbase?

I'm sure fans who follow believe once the series rolls around that ESPN/talking heads go on about a certain school.

LSU in college baseball is a bigger program relative to its sport than Notre Dame football or Duke basketball...

Even in the bubble that's not remotely true.

Not even close - except within the smaller bubble of LSU fans - maybe they talk about LSU baseball but no one else does and certainly not west of the Mississippi. There it's Stanford and UCLA and Cal St. Fullerton.

(But you don't have to live in Durham or South Bend to hear and talk about Duke and Notre Dame like you have to live in Louisiana to hear about LSU.)

Please tell me how Duke is overhyped

ESPN aired one of their PRACTICES this year.

As for the hype part, it has to be FSU or Clemson. FSU plays in their glorified Dixie Youth park, beats everyone 19-8, and everyone wonders if this is "finally" Mike Martin's year.

And it never is.

everyone who follows college baseball knows about LSU... just like there are good CFB programs, then (all-time) there's Notre Dame.

there's good baseball programs, but only one has 6 CWS, sparked the growth of the sport, has a HOF in its stadium, expects to be in the postseason every year, etc.

ESPN has aired practices of Kentucky basketball, LSU football, Alabama football, and some other programs. It's what happens when you have channels like ESPNU that are starving for content.

I would disagree, but even if it was true, it would be like saying UNC women's soccer is bigger than those teams or Hopkins lacrosse.

Nobody watches women's college basketball and everybody I know hates UConn.

In what way does making the Elite 8 be considered overrated?
