It used to be Atlanta when they were on TBS and went on their run in the 90s. I don't think there is one now.
This. With the Braves making the playoffs nearly every year and being on TBS helped. I certainly remember TBS saying so.

Bruh, could you find a more recent article?

OK you do understand that Yankee was a derisive term used by the Brits prior to the War of Independence,,, "Yankee" refers to Americans and it was in popular usage long before basebal

Great point you make, and I agree. Which is why I laughed when this person called them “America’s Team” in the beginning of the argument. I asked why. They pulled up google and the first result was Wikipedia, which mentioned them as America’s Team solely because that was TBS marketing their product. It’s trivial, but still, I enjoy indulging in meaningless arguments amounts friends.

Oh sweet, we're tied for second place with the Red Sox and Braves for most hated fan base.

It’s not the Braves.
And another poster saying it isn’t the Yankees because they are hated? Hell, that’s what makes them America’s Team. You have to be good to be hated on that level.
I’d say either Yankees, or because of recent success, the Red Sox.
The only other exception to the winning thing might be the Cubs.
Cardinals aren’t polarizing enough.

Team USA is America’s team. Any MLB, NFL, NBA, etc. that claim they are America’s team deserve to suck in the playoffs despite one of history’s greatest pitching staffs like the Braves have or have a long Super Bowl drought like the Cowboys.
Also folks who are Yankees fans from outside the tri-state area are bandwagon, front running losers who should be ridiculed for their sports alliance sloth. Yankees are the furthest from America’s team as you can find.

Braves aren't even on the list. If they played football, they would be called the Bills.

I remember in 2003, the Cubs were in the NLCS against the Marlins. I was out in Medford, OR for work and there were stores and restaurants that had "Go Cubs Go" on their marquees. Hell, I live in South Dakota (Twins territory) and there are Cubs fans everywhere. Everywhere I have ever been in this country there has been a large contingent if Cubs fans.
Yankees are huge but people underestimate just how many Cubs fans there are in this country.

I don’t think that’s true at all
People know how large their fan base is

Then legit contender's for America's Team.
The Yankees are polarizing, you either love or hate them. Like Notre Dame, everybody has an opinion.
The Cubs have tons of fans and not as much hate.

As they are, right below the Yankees
With the Red Sox

People don’t really hate losers
It was like that with the Red Sox too
But once they start winning more they’ll get hate

Of course. They've never been good enough to hate.
