Who did Texas play this year? toughest game was OK State. Look how well the BCS encourage scheduling tough OOC games.

UCF, UTEP, Wyoming, ULM is the answer

My concern is this, the College World Series used to be a 16 team tourny with the top 8 going to the College World Series. At some point in the last decade, they determained to expaland the tourny to give more teams a chance. Now teams like Southern get in when they have no chance of winning it. This is what will happen to college football. Its not about the playoffs, its about being fair to EVERY school.

The regular season does not compare to March Madness, which was the topic.

what i gather from this thread is that fans of the BCS must not watch regular season NFL games. Obviously the NFL playoffs have really hurt the NFL. Seriously Im surprised every year people aren't bitching about how unfair the NFL is.

Expansion is all about money. Basketball is rumored to be expanding to 96 teams. More games = more tv money.

I'm not a fan of that many teams, but I prefer it over a two team playoff.

I wouldn't be opposed to a 4 team playoff, if it stopped at that and I knew for certain that it wouldn't ever be a higher number for a long time.

Look playing in a playoff for lsu is dumb! the sec champion is pretty much assured to make the championship game.

You're comparing an 16 game season with 2 bye weeks to a 12 game season. You're also comparing a league with 32 teams against the entire BCS eligible contenders.

Now you are telling me what my conversation was with another poster.

My statement:
Not many things beats March Madness or the NFL playoffs.

His reply:
Except almost every week of college football

My reply:
TV ratings would disagree with you.

8 is out of control. You've got to be kidding me that you think the winner of the big 10, pac 10, and acc should be contending for the title.

exactly with less regular season games and teams not playing enough common opponents its impossible to say who tyhe best teams are without them playing, thats why a playoff is needed.

But that is not what I was discussing with you. And I don't know, his statement may be wrong, but it's probably very close.

yes, if they're not good then they wont win and move on, its simple. Are you not familiar with the way all organized sports are played around the world except CFB?

regular season wins would help you get a higher seed and hence the reg season would not be diminished

A playoff gives you all the big matchups you'd want to see. Why would you be against that?

The best matchups, more money, and its a fair way to determine the champion. Its simple really

Apples and Watermelons, ratings for the regular season in college football and the paramount event in basketball are not real comparisons.

Even at that the Final Four was beat out by CSI Miami last year. Where the BCS game had 5 million more viewers.

NCAA football has regional coverage of most conferences, where you have folks tuned in to "their' game.

Lets isolate it to the most logical matchup. Final Four Finals versus BCS Championship game, and it is a knockout for football.

Hell, the BCS bowls get between 10-14 million viewers, more than the regional finals get for the NCAA tourney by about 50 percent.
