You've got to be joking, right? NCAA football is the second most popular sport. Right behind the NFL.
Every college football weekend does not draw better ratings than the two weekends of March Madness.

You mean all of them put together?

Just imagine every team in the sec with a Usl Tulane and some div 2 school for ooc every year.
Go look at this year's SEC OOC schedule. You might be surprised at what you see.

we can put Nichols, southern, grambling, and prarie View for OOC games. Lose 2 games in the Sec and boom into the playoff

What playoff system have you seen that would allow this?

Every high ranked team would have no reason to put a tough ooc game on their schedule.

They would if SOS was part of the selection process.

look at penn state this year they played no one ooc and really only 2 good teams in the big 10. They are ranked in the top 16. Boise is in the top 10 playing no one.

Most are advocating a 4 or 8 team system. There is no chance at starting with 16.

you realize how stupid the OCC argument is right? You idiots are saying a 8/16 team playoff would make teams less likely to schedule tough OCC than the BCS system that votes 2 teams in? LOL, logic be damned on this thread.

Ok, let's use the BCS rankings in a 16 team field. That weak schedule got them an away game against the 4th ranked team. Do you really think teams would not schedule appropriately to avoid getting a weak seed on the road?

You do realize that NCAA football has the second highest ratings, right?
College basketball doesn't touch it.

The regular season does not compare to March Madness, which was the topic.

How many teams would want to risk an extra loss where it could kick them out of the playoff. In the Sec with the reputation it has now teams don't need an ooc schedule to get a high ranking because of the amount of ranked teams they play in conference.

Imagine how high the ratings would be for a playoff with quarter-final matchups in on-campus stadiums like, LSU vs. Tex, Oregon vs Florida, Bama vs Ga Tech, TCU vs Ohio State, then semi finals: Tex vs Florida, Bama vs Ohio St, Then a finals b/w Texas and Bama

The Sec has it great right now with the bcs. Even though people hate the bcs a one loss sec 9 times out of 10 will be in the championship game. A playoff would just make it more difficult for the sec team to make it to the championship.

So LSU would rather a road game against a "quality" opponent to avoid risking a loss against West Virginia, North Carolina, etc? LSU would rather lose all the potential revenue of a home playoff game?
Seriously?

Playoff = more Big Time OOC matchups, which is what you dont get with the BCS. Those big time matchups allow to find out who the best team is since we dont get to see that during the regular season. It means better post season games, that mean a lot more instead of 1 meaningful bowl game. It means more money for your school.
what is there not to like about that
