Well, the fact is that the NCAA sent a summary disposition draft to Oregon. Chris Dodd basically came out and all but said this would end well for Oregon after seeing the document. Anyway, I am more inclined to say that it will end with something more akin to USC(E) than USC(W). Of course, I admit that the whole process could unfoil and go adverserial quickly, if some of that redacted material implicates Oregon in much more severe infractions.
I think Grinolds and co are leading the charge in getting severe sanction rumors out there.

So, selling something you own is worse than paying for recruits? Really?
Yes Tressel lied. Forward the goddamned email and there's little more than a few suspended games for the players and a slap on the wrist.
Chip Kelly lied as well. What's his punishment?

I do not seek you out. But every time I come on here and post, you seek me out.
As for saying to your face. No problem. I find your bark louder then your bite.
The reason I bring up where you live is because you fit that classic profile of where you live. Personally I could care less where you live. Living in a 1million dollar house or under a bridge means no difference to me. A guy can fail with logic either way. But there are certain stereotypes. And you fit them.
As for me, it is not I who have the obsession with you, but rather you with me. And well, I don't fall for your pathetic attempts to intimate people. It basically is, if you do not like me showing you to be a ranter, then pick someone elts to stalk and harass. How about you just talk to someone elts? How about you just ignore me? But are you able to? Doubt it...

Yeah, they just need to hurry up and announce the penalties. Chris Dodd only saw as much as we all saw though. Who knows what was in the redacted sections. The main thing that I think Duck fans should be worried about is that Kelly attempted to cover it up by throwing together a quick package of what you received for $25,000 and it all turned out to be completely useless. Direct head coach involvement and a potential cover up would make me worry if it was my program. I wish there was a timeline so we could know when to expect the announcement.

From what I can remember of tOSU, their problem was the coach hiding that the kids got impermissible benefits and not running it through compliance. Remember, these were guys already on campus.
Oregon, on the other hand, paid for influence to get recruits. So, you tell me what is cheating? Getting access to to recruits or letting your players get dicounts on tatts and cars?
I think Oregon gets off easier for cooperating and the fact that the NCAA needs to clean up the rulebook.

If you really believe that then you do not understand the case that well. It is not the NCAA against Oregon. It is the NCAA investigating the whole issue of street agents in general, not just UO.

He did that before there was an investigation. So, it's not a coverup. I work in a highly regulated industry. Everyone tries to create a paperwork trail to justify their actions. The problem is when you do it during the ivestigation. That is - you impede an investigation. Chip did not do that.

Facts.
Tatoos yes. Cars no.
Who LET them get the deals on the tatoos? They did it themselves. The university had nothing to do with that. The big crime is that Tressel lied and covered it up. His penalty is as harsh as they come.
Buying recruits? Pretty big trangression there as well. Again, on the coach.

That is not entirely true. We did not get caught with the Pot officially, because we "Smoked it all."

Didn't Tressell know and report it to no one? That was the part of the issue, right?

The problem here is that Lyles ran a somewhat legit recruiting service. Also, paper profiles are archaic. No one needs those profiles but they are used to legitimize the service, per NCAA rules. Anyway, it's not very cut and dried.

SLEEP seems like a good idea for you. DUDE I realize that this is a message board and I realize I know way more about sports than you, BUT Its funny you CAN'T RESPOND to my last post with anything but.
Have a gREAT DAY.

He didn't know about it when it happened. It came up in an investigation of the tatoo parlor owner and he was informed of it in an email. He choose to sit on the email. That was what ultimately cost him his job. He knew about it in March and it wasn't made public until December. He still sat on the information and it was found that he had the information since March in January of the following year.
The players would have simply had several game suspensions if he'd forwarded the email.
Please note I am not defending Tressel. I have little respect for the man after his actions. He preached character, honesty and integrity and wasn't living what he preached. As I stated earlier, I do not tolerate hypocrites.

I didn't think you were. The problem we have with the Oregon investigation is no one is taking about it.

We had a known scout service owner, who we made a payment to, make an on campus visit with a recruit(s) and Chip personally thanked him with a hand written letter. Nothing gray in that. I have no idea what the NCAA does. You can't even compare it to someone else's (elts) situation because the NCAA is so inconsistant. We'll see.

He never made it on our campus. He was personally thanked for arranging the visit - just like he did for LSU, where he did show up on campus. I think the problem with that angle is he did this for Cal and LSU. If you are going to nail Oregon for that - then a lot of schools are in trouble.
However, Oregon did write the biggest check. That is why they are subject to an investigation and the others aren't.
