We didn’t know Kirby Puckett was trash until he died.

The 86 Mets were the shittiest collection of humans in sports history but the media loved all of them until they broke up the band.

Dude was involved in numerous domestic incidents and was just an all around scumbag but in the eyes for the media Puckett was “a good guy” and they felt sorry for him when he lost his eyesight. Same reason why his undeserving arse is in the HOF
