Translation - There's no where near Comiskey/The Cell/Whatever it's called now where you can drink before/after the game.

Cubs fans are doing most of their drinking in Wrigleyville.

St. Louis tried to copy that with "Ballpark Village"

Well, they have to fight their way thru the streets of chicago to get home after games. Best be lit while doing so.

St. Louis is one of the cheapest cities to drink in, so when people see nine dollar beer’s they say nah I’m good.

Angels fans pay the most in baseball for alcohol so they must be buying some expensive froo froo shite.

Dodgers are low because Mexicans sneak shite in.

The Cleveland number is probably still inflated from 10 Cent Beer night in the 70s where the game had to be called off due to unruly fans

NBC newscaster Tim Russert, then a student at the Cleveland–Marshall College of Law, attended the game. "I went with $2 in my pocket," recalled the Meet the Press host. "You do the math.

So both of the Braves fans had 4 beers each? I wonder who drove home.

I’ve been to hundreds of ballgames. The drunkest fan I ever saw was in the centerfield pavilion behind the batters eye at The Cell (or whatever the frick it’s called now). He was in his 20’s, slurring everything. Stumbling around. He called every batter a lefty. He shittalked Adam Dunn relentlessly. He wanted to be heard so he stood on a rail and poked his head through an opening in the batter’s eye and started yelling. When he decided to relocate he asked the beer vendor where his seat was.

Good times.

the methodology on this is weird. they didn't seem to specify that the number of drinks was at the park or even during game hours. If I'm going to a braves game I am probably showing up early for dinner/drinks at the battery. Am I supposed to count those beers in my reporting?

Cleveland, represent!

OTOH, I think Philly’s totals are low due to pre-gaming.

The numbers seem off. After reading how they compiled this data, I realize it’s a bunch of crap.

They asked about 2,600 baseball fans over the course of 21 days how much they drink. So that’s less than 100 people per fan base. Fans that haven’t attended a baseball game since 2019.

And of course they only asked people over 21 so don’t assume if the number is over 4 drinks per game that the entire stadium is averaging 4 drinks. A father taking his two sons to a game doesn’t mean he took down 12 drinks himself.

Average age was 36 years old so I doubt many people over 60 were even asked.

Cardinals are low on the First list, spending at ball park, because a lot of the fans hit bars near Busch to pretake in some pregame beer drinking.
