Which sports have players wear #0?

I think basketball may be it.
Does anyone wear 0 or 00 in football (other than in movies)?

Gilbert Arenas wears zero. That's the only current player I can think of.

I think Hockey and Soccer might.
I know there must be a MLB player with double ought. Hasn't been as popular in the NBA as of late except for Gilbert Arenas.
I'm sure a professional athlete could easily wear it if he wanted to though. In any sport.

Yeah, jersey numbering has become extremely rigid over the past few decades. It was a "big deal" when the league started allowing receivers to wear numbers 10-19 a few years ago.
Apparently it makes it a lot easier for officials to identify illegal activity on the field by position.

Keyshawn Johnson was the first one within the modern system to wear a number between 10-19, to my knowledge, and he had to pay a fine to do it.
The only reason the league started allowing all receivers to do it is that franchises had retired so many jerseys between 80-89 that incoming players might not have a number left. And wide receiver is typically a position with a lot of depth obviously.
ETA: I think if someone wanted 0 or 00 , they could pay a fine similar to Johnson's to use it.

and same thing in basketball, that's why in the old days numbers couldn't go higher than 5 on both sides, because the refs would call a foul and be able to show the scorekeepers the number of the player by using their fingers. But then came Dennis Rodman and Shawn Bradley and several other players that picked whatever number they wanted and it was no longer an issue.

I remember a guy named Ken Burrough WR drafted by the Saints in the early 70s but spent most of his career in Houston. He sported 00 for most if not all of his career.
Not to be confused with another receiver named Ken Burrow who was playing in the league at the exact same time but wore no. 82? for the Falcons?
I think Orlando Woolridge PF for Lakers and maybe some other teams wore the single digit "0" some if not all of his career
Jim Otto of the Raiders also came to mind but someone's already posted a picture of him.

Yeah, 0 and 00 were disallowed sometime in the 70s but those who already sported it were grandfathered in.

Close. He's allowed to wear 23 because he completed a full NFL season as a CB. Had he been moved to WR halfway through his first season, he would have had to change numbers the next season.
