It will be fun to watch this unfold. This is as big of a qb class as I can remember. If my job was on the line I’d take Rosen. All of the qbs have different things that point in their favor but Rosen is the only one I’ve seen that looks like he could almost immediately be a decent NFL quarterback. I’ve never actually watched Josh Allen play a full game though.

Agreed. I don’t necessarily think darnold is ready right now, but staying at usc another year won’t help. Helton and Martin are awful, and are probably the reasons why he hasn’t progressed in his second season.

Eta- the Rosen and cutler comparison seems spot on.

Mayfield reminds me of Russell Wilson and Manziel. My guess is there’s a much higher chance Mayfields nfl career resembles manziels rather than Wilson.

I saw a ton of Lamar Jackson last year and thought zero chance he’s an nfl qb. I haven’t seen him at all this year and I know a lot of people are saying he’s progressed, so I don’t have an opinion.

Cutler is like a 12 year starter so that’s a terrible example to use as an example of a concern or bust

I don’t care for his arm and decision making. It’s fine in college but it’ll be like a Johnny Manziel..or at best Colt mccoy type of success. He may stick around for a few years but nothing to note of success. Even Vince Young made a pro bowl so even if 1 year is decent none others will be

Mason Rudolph- He is inconsistent though.

Am I missing something here? Mason Rudolph led the country in pass yards, finished third in passing efficiency, and was fourth in touchdown passes.

I think Mason Rudolph is good, but he had a lot going for him this year- he played a pitiful schedule of pass defenses and his WR group is one of the best in the country.

I'm excited to see how he does against VA Tech. A big performance there could be big for his draft stock.

not too many competitive defenses in the big12. clemson will do it to him again in this years national championship.

there are tons of talented qbs this year. even the dark horses no one has mentioned:
Ryan Finley NC ST
Kenny Hill TCU
Kyle Allen (hs #1 recruit) HOUSTON
Chase Litton MARSHALL
Jarrett Stidham AUBURN

i wouldnt be shocked if at least 2 of these guys outperform Mayfield at the combine

Whoever drafts Allen is a moron. If you can’t elevate your team to win in the Mountain West what makes you think that he will elevate your team in the NFL? All the good Qbs from midmajor or FCS teams that are any good (Big Ben, Wentz, Garropollo, and Flacco) all made their teams better

uga has good yardage numbers, but it is hard to compare anyone they have played to Ou's offense. the two teams with similar offenses (mizzou and Aub) both had success.

uga defense doesnt get many sacks, and they dont force ints. clemson is #1 in the country in sacks. the baw is gonna be running for his life against real nfl talent.

3 d linemen for clemson will go in the first round. the 4th is not eligible and will be the #1 pick next year

None of them are ready.

Not one.

Id take jackson in round 2.
Rosen will be real good if he goes to a team with a line and a rb and a couple of wrs.
Teams picking at top of round one dont have jackshit.
No one is ready for that crap.

Would love Mayfield to be a Saint and learn from Brees for a couple years.

Every one of these QBs can find success, it just depends on what team grabs them. For example, I could see Mayfield finding success in New Orleans, Arizona, Los Angeles, or Pittsburg. I could see Rosen finding success in New York (Giants) or Buffalo. This is how I look at this QB class.
First taken in draft: Darnold
First to start: Darnold
Best: Rosen
Biggest question mark: Allen
Highest ceiling: Mayfield/Allen
Most overhyped: Jackson
Biggest sleeper: Ryan Finley (NC State)

This is the best qb class in a while.

There's potiential for it to be. But look at a few of the past classes.
2012: Luck, RG3 (Injuries ruined him), Tannehill, Wilson, Cousins, Foles.
2014: Bortles, Bridgewater (Gotta see how he comes back), Carr, Garoppolo
2016: Goff, Wentz, Dak, Brissett, Lynch (Hasn't been able to stay healthy)

Reasons why Mayfield is a bust?????

Everyone is immediately gonna say bc he's playing in the big 12. But he's still tearing them up. The numbers don't lie. Plus, when he played against Ohio State this season he tore them up. One thing that impressed me with Mayfield is when the pocket collapses, he's able to extend the play while continuing to keep his eyes down the field. Manziel used to do that but would just toss it up randomly and get a nice catch from one of his plethora of recievers. Mayfield has terrific accuracy and seems to have "it". He has things he needs to work on and develop but if a team like the Cardinals, Chargers, Saints, Giants, or Steelers draft him, I could see him finding major success (especially with the Saints or Cardinals).
