The two best teams typically are fairly clear. If it went to 8 teams bama would basically only playing for pride until the playoffs at this point.

I like Option B the best. 4 is not enough to cover conference championships and at-large bids. 6 with the top two with byes works well IMHO. No matter where you cut it off, there will always be someone outside looking in; however, once you get outside the top 6, does it really matter?

i like 6 because it covers 5 confeances plus a wild card. Then on years where the big 12 is assy(like this year) a mid major can slide in

Make 4 16 team conferences. Play 2 OOC games and 8 in conference games. Then do a regional 4 team "playoff" with the top 2 from each division getting in and the winner of each 4 team playoff gets in.

This is why i didnt want a playoff.

there will always be a team that feels left out, the more you expand the playoff the larger that list grows.

hell the 69th team in basketball whines and moans too. If you keep expanding it you will get to the point where the regular season is so diluted you have bama resting starters for the iron bowl.
