There are so many kids in those high schools and football programs. There is talent and great facilities, but it's overrated for the most part.

2005 Texas had a NC caliber defense overshadowed by VY. Without a couple of huge stops against USC... no NC that year.

TAMU's has been this way for a whi me. This scenario almost played out 7 years ago against LA Tech.
