So, Lawrence Taylor played from 1981-1993. You were born in 1981. Tell me how you were watching and deducting his greatness as a 4 year old Why do some of the younger people thinks this makes them sound cool or edgy to like the old things? Is this the hipster movement?
Having also been born in 1981, I watched the 1987 and 1990 Super Bowl as a youngster and have vivid memories of not only those games but also the highlight reels of the day having seen many NFL Films shorts highlight his greatness. The original Tecmo Bowl also featured LT as a super player.

I saw an 18 year old say Lawrence Taylor, who finished his career 3 years before they were born
I'm 23, so Ladanian is LT to me. Not taking anything away from Lawrence Taylor. I played LB growing up so I used to watch his highlights all the time and know that he changed the position. But for anyone 25 and under LT is the guy you saw being called LT on sportscenter every night, not the guy you saw highlights of on tv 5 times a year
The thread title states to say what player first comes to mind with the initials "LT". Not if you have seen him play live/playing in games or not. I watched alot of NFL films/ Top 10 lists on NFL network growing up, so I know Lawrence Taylor is one of the NFL greats. He was the first LT. Nothing against Ladanian. Nothing to do with trying to seem cool or "edgy"

I'm just saying that for people who grew up after he played, Ladanian is the one who was constantly referred to as LT. I refer to Taylor as LT, but Ladanian is the one that I saw play every week. Not saying everyone is, but the majority of the young people saying Taylor are trying to either be cool or not get shite on

I can't stand threads that have a sole purpose of shitting on the younger generation for not knowing a football player they never watched play
There are at least ten times as many threads with the younger generation shitting on old-time players they never saw play. So you owe us a couple.

Like I said, I grew up watching and ungodly amount of NFL films and I hated Tomlinson, so I never called him that
I don't think thinking of Lawrence Taylor as LT makes anyone cool

Or maybe I'm a 23 year old Giant fan and there will only ever be one LT, and his last name was Taylor.

Tomlinson deserves the nickname. It is easier to fully and properly pronounce Lawrence Taylor.
