I'm playing copper Friday and I've played it the last 2 Fridays and I think it's in great shape

I didn't play it at all last year bc I kept hearing bad things about its condition

Let me know how it is. I won't be getting out on the course for a while with my knee.

The same company and greens keeper pre sale are on board still and seem to be staying on board for the long haul, but they are bringing in a new course manager who has way more credentials than the previous one (who essentially had none other than CM). The sale can only help CM. Hopefully it can get to what it was originally hoped to be.

Like I said, I've been really impressed with it the last 2 weeks

It's a great layout with some memorable holes, if they keep it in good shape, it's a great play

Yeah, Webb is nothing special but I don't think it's overpriced BREC is not in the business of overpricing golf

Seems to me that BREC shouldn't be in the golf business. Or at least they should privatize their courses.

I don't know man. Take Santa Maria out of the equation and it's a huge failure. Not that I don't like beaver creek, but it's doing 16,000 rounds a year. Something has to give.

If it's not breaking even, it's not breaking even. Sorry you failed econ.

Did you somehow misread those two simple statements? I'm not going to pay $30 to play Webb. I'm sure others feel the same. That results in fewer customers and less revenue.

Understand that?

And to anyone who thinks paying $30 is too expensive to play golf is stupid.
To some people it's not worth it. That makes them stupid?

The drop of golfers from ages 18-34 is disconcerting. In all honesty, who wants to play a 4.5-5 hour round on golf these days? Maybe times changing have lead to the demise of the popularity of the sport? Kids these days don't have the attention span for 5 hours of golf.

I enjoy playing golf, but I don't enjoy it enough to drop $50 on a nice course, or $30 for Webb. I get more entertainment for cheaper elsewhere.

Part of the problem is the war on wealth in this country and our despicable president that leads that war.

Has made golf look "elitist", even though the hypocrite plays regularly.

But seriously, the liberal BS in this country has made golf far less fashionable.

I blame lazy management.

Every time I play a local course, there are 3-4 employees sitting in the pro shop bullshitting around with the same members, while the course is backing up due to a lack of a marshall controlling play.

Beer carts? Forget about it. It's better to have a lazy bitch sitting on a barstool at the clubhouse than have someone actually working to satisfy customers during play.

Open tee times on weekend mornings? How is it the same people always have the best tee times on the weekend? Reservations start at 7:00 am, 48 hours prior. I called at 7:02 and the earliest I could get on was 11:30.

More later.

It's probably true. Most young kids these days are flat billers. Flat billers don't think golf is cool.

I would love to play golf but in the work world we exist in today it takes too much time to play a round. Most companies no longer see playing golf as a good business investment. The new alternative -tickets to high profile games NBA NFL and NCAA- You go see part of the game slip out have a business meal

You work 45-60 hours a week on the job, you have kids and school activities , etc and the time you need to play golf just does not fit.

Golf made huge strides when it used to be view as a place where business deals where made-

A great game that sadly takes a large time frame to execute.

I don't know about Baton Rouge but the rain kills us on the Northshore.. With the rain yesterday there's pretty much no chance the courses around here will be playable by Saturday morning.

This area just doesn't drain. If it's rained in the last week, you're an idiot for wearing a new pair of golf shoes.. Every shot is wet.., if you just miss a green on an approach, you're lucky to even find your plugged ball.... just not a great place for golf, sadly..

Y'all deal with that over there?
