Hardy is worse because he threw her on a bed of assault rifles.

STFU. The difference is Hardy beat her for probably 15-30 mins for her to be covered in bruises like she was. Plus he threatened to kill her. Plus he abused her routinely. Rice hit her one time. Rice is a TPOS for that too, but Hardy is psycho, beating an innocent woman on a regular basis

Ok, let's see how MLB handles it. If he gets a slap of the wrist like in the NFL, then ill agree the leagues are all doing this thing where they protect their assets when they commit criminal actions. I was looking for some previous incidents of crime from MLB and NBA players that have already been dealt with by their respective leagues in order to make a judgement on that now though

He paid the woman he mercilessly assaulted to stop cooperating with the police.

And I know Aaron Hernandez is in jail now, but I'm pretty sure it's because the Patriots didn't care enough to keep him. He was good but not great, and his past record really hurt him. Plus he didn't have a fall guy like other players have had

Wut? Hernandez was very talented. He could have been great in NWE. He is in jail because he likely killed a person or perhaps multiple people.

To the point of this thread, it is reprehensible to hit a female, but these guys were punished for their crimes. If Ray Rice could still run for 5+ yards a carry, he would still be in the league. Hardy is still a disruptive force and has not been found guilty of any crime. If there was a video, similar to the Rice case, I think the outrage would be greater.

Although I do agree for both of these situations, there are certainly examples where you may need to use physical force against a woman in order to save your own life

Where does Manziel fit into this? I can't stand the guy, but the video makes that girl seem like 15 kinds of crazy.

One was on video one the pictures came out later. Neither deserves to play in NFL.

You would think that, but I'm trying to compare it to the NBA and MLB right now and I don't think I've suspected either of those leagues of doing what the NFL does. I could be wrong, but I have trouble recalling any incidents like Ray Rice, Hardy, etc in the NBA. Could be star NBA players commit fewer crimes though Edit: # of players in each league may also account for some of the differences (NFL much larger). But MLB and NFL are fairly similar in size

I think he was talking about other professions in general. Not just sports. You won't hear as much about it because football is more popular than accounting or stocks, but it ain't like these are the first two people to abuse women.
