It seems in college anything 5 or higher is looked upon as a good ypc.

Obviously running backs in the nfl have to fight much harder for yards and it's much harder. So what do you consider to be a solid ypc in the NFL?

I think over 4.5 is pretty good in the NFL for the primary back.

4.0 is the minimum to really be getting it done. 4.5 and above is pretty excellent

5.0 is what I consider the threshold to be considered a star running back. 4.7 and higher to be a starter.

I'm realizing I may have high standards.

Half the league would have an empty backfield.

Hey I said I have high standards. I'd make due with lower, but keep searching for higher.

Deangelo was averaging 5.6 last year and Auburn fans were saying they couldn't run and had to highlight Cam.

Realistically, 4.25 is sort of the minimum point before you think you are at a disadvantage against good teams.

There will be starters in the league who don't get that point-- the stars will be 4.5 or higher.

Eddie George was probably the most overrated RB in the past two decades. He only cracked 4.0 ypc twice in his career. I never saw what was so special about him.
