I mean shite Cal took UMASS to a final four.

I think they've only made the tournament 2 times without him in their program history.

Lon Kruger was doing very good things there before leaving for ou. Hell of a coach

Yes he is. Hard to believe he was at UNLV for 7 years.

It hasn't helped that Steve Fisher built a powerhouse (relatively speaking) in the same conference at SDSU

If UNLV could have combined Kruger's coaching with Rice's recruiting, they would be a force

If Menzies can put a recruiting wall around Las Vegas and Henderson that would be a start. Especially the Gorman and Findley kids.

I think between 2016 and 2017 recruiting class in Vegas/Henderson alone 7 kids were 5 star or 4 star. All 7 went or are going out of state.

They have some nice facilities, just need to get the local kids to want to stay. I think Menzies can do well if given time. The kids on the team now are trying hard and coaching has put them competitive in a majority of games, just no talent at all.

The whole coaching search last year was a shite show. So might take a few years to get back on track. The AD (Tina Kunzer Murphy) is supposed to be stepping down which should help. She might rival Alleva on the incompetent scale.
