Youre telling me a .250 hitter that strikes out 30 times a year is better than a .300 hitter that stikes out 100 times a year?
The most over rated offensive stat is batting average. What is their OBP?
You are also giving a more specific example. how often a hitter strikes out is useful information, more so than you realize.

thats my point. k's do not make one hitter better than another all things being equal
well you are wrong. if you have 2 hitters with equal stats, except one strikes out 50 times and the other strikes out 100 times, you are better off with the guy that strikes out less.

OBP is BY FAR the most underrated and one of, if not the most important offensive stat.

avg/OBP/Slug and OPS are really important to me.
OBP more than average, but I still like to see how a hitter's average and OBP compare.

Do you know what OBP stands for?

overall, OPS may be the best stat., but OBP >>>>>>>>>>>>>BA

yeah, but i like it when there is a huge difference. In 91, Ricky Henderson hit .268 with a .400 OBP

Yea me too. He was a true leadoff hitter.

surprisingly enough, nobody has said that.
they are telling you that a .290 hitter that strikes out 30 times is better than a .300 hitter that strikes out 100 times.

RISP with 2 out is a bullshite stat. You've all you need to know with RBIs, BA, OBP, etc. It may reveal "clutch" in the short term, but there is no clutch with 162 games. It seems like it's an unnecessary stat that's searching for some sort of meaning.

Most definitely. I don't know why anyone would say OBP. OBP and OPS are very important.

I think I am now dumber for reading Pilot Tiger's posts in this thread.
And to answer the question, wins.

Its the strikeout, especially for power hitters. If you want proof the average OPS of the top 20 strikeout leaders in MLB is .844, not too shabby.
