I couldn't hate this photograph more if I tried. As I've grown older, I've learned to appreciate what a great athlete Dwight Clark was. I was also very saddened when he passed away a few years ago--very tragic. But, man, in THAT MOMENT...my thirteen-year-old-Dallas-Cowboy-fan arse was like, "frick that dude."

What a shite post. The title of the thread is sports photograph, and there's not a single pic in OP. Horrible.

One of my favorites is a boxing photo. It was the moment of impact when Rocky Marciano connected with Jersey Joe Walcott in the 13th round of their title fight.
Rocky was behind on the cards and that right hand totally destroyed Walcott and he just crumbled to the mat after collapsing in a somewhat seated position with his left arm caught in the ropes before collapsing to the canvas.
Jersey Joe's face was so distorted by that punch they could have counted him out with a sundial.

There's a really cool story behind that pic..
Balding guy in between Ali's legs was a senior staff photographer at SI and basically told the young "novice" photographer for SI to find his own spot to take his pics.. Turns out he got the pic of the year...

Leifer was known for excessive preparations, but however early he’d arrived to the fight, he didn’t have his pick of seats. Herb Scharfman, a senior photographer at Sports Illustrated had the first pick and wanted the spot by the judges’ table—it made for easier midnight maneuvering. Leifer, the 22-year-old striver at Sports Illustrated, chose the opposite side.* To capture the color, Leifer had rigged special flash units over the ring, but this led to another, bigger challenge: Leifer had one shot. The other photographers brandished the equivalent of semi-automatics while he held a sniper rifle. Leifer’s strobes needed time to recharge, which meant he couldn’t click and click. Whenever a fighter fell, the other photographers could quick-twitch their shutters, but Leifer had to pick one moment, artistically aping the sniper’s motto: one shot, one kill.
