They hoped for those schools to keep playing and that those kids are out there having fun. at one time there was a district of Country Day, St. Martin's, Crescent City, Ecole Classique, Ridgewood, Lutheran, Port Sulphur, and Boothville Venice... back in the 80s i think they had a whole 1A district just in Plaquemines Parish lol
I'm sorry I missed that.
Don't forget us, we played all those teams when I was at St. John Prep. Our last two seasons with the multiplier, we had to play in AA. Our district in 1983 and 1984 included: Northshore (just opening) Newman, Belle Chasse, Buras, and John Curtis.
In the prior years, and in pre-distrcit we played all those teams. In 1983, we played Buras at Fort Jackson, I go back to the locker room to grab something (trainer/manager) and there are Burasians going through our stuff in every locker...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
We thought we had rivals, but the we really couldn't beat anybody, but we "hated" Newman, because we could come close against them in most sports.
Crescent City and First Assembly were rivals to us because before Crescent City, it was Mid-City Baptist, and when they moved to Metairie the school became First Assembly Academy. It was located right across Airline Highway from us. All these buildings are now gone.

Yes, they were.
There was an offshoot league called the Pelican Prep League from about 78-80, and it was our only football championship.
Then it merged back into a A LHSAA district. We played in it in 1980.
Fischer, Ecole, Ridgewood, First Assembly, Crescent City, St. John Prep, I think Country Day and St. M. We also played Life Academy, Lutheran, and New Orleans Academy.
Although, over its existence, St.M. has yo-yo'd between A and AA.
In 1981, because we were a boys school, we had to use the multiplier, and we had to play in that sick AA district, which also included St. Charles. Forgot about them.

Buras has some real, quality people living down there... they also have the polar opposite of that too, as do most places

before shows didn't wm only have like 1 other playoff appearance in 25 years?
No, West Monroe made the playoffs in 1985 and the late 1970s under Robert Charles Payne.
