There is also a company in Baton Rouge called golden grading. LINK

Nice. I just got back into the hobby, good to have more options.

Does anybody know what the market is like for cards from the 1950s right now? A ways back I inherited a large collection that is in very good condition for cards from that era. They are boxed up in protective plastic sleeves right now. But I always planned to sell them one day, maybe after getting some of them graded.
Is now the time to do that?

The market for vintage cards and new cards is hot right now. There's a gap from like 1980-2003 where there isn't much value outside of a select few cards.

Is there a phone number because I don’t have Facebook and I can’t see their page.

My suggestion and what I’m doing is wait until PSA and/or BGS get fully ramped up again to have cards graded. However if you just want your cards slabbed and not worried about reselling them just go with the company you feel has the best slabs. It would be great if more companies become legit in the future but right now the market sales indicate that no one is paying premiums for anything outside of the big 2

Won't be any time soon. Even when they do re-open, it'll be significantly more expensive or the wait times will be back to where they're at now for bulk subs

Market sales have CSG trading blows with them right now, especially at the bulk level cards

Fair enough. I hate their labels though, not that PSA's look that great.

I’ve been a collector for over 30 years and have a collection I’d put up against anyone’s. Personally I would not sub nor buy anything outside of bgs and psa.
The price increase to me is fine, hopefully it will stop people from grading cards that have no business being graded.

The slabs are super clean though. Their labels with subgrades look nice, without look pretty meh.
Wish I would have seen the difference before I submitted my order for no subs

Damn, didnt know sports cards were so valuable right now. might have to go through the basement and find my old ones

Probably a couple dollars unless graded high.

I have an old SGC slab. Back then they used a 1-100 scale. And is some black insert inside the slab to keep the card from moving around. But I didn't like it then. And still don't like it now. I wish I never bought it, but I couldn't resist then.

SGC has one of the shittiest slabs on the market right now.
BGS has the best just because of their color-tiered labels, I think CSG is second due to the slab cleanness, and then PSA 3rd. I find CSG and PSAs labels to be a wash

I have a BGS 10 of a card I submitted a long time ago with a gold label. Back then, there was no BGS 10 black label slabs. Unfortunately, the player tanked though. So I'm sure it's not worth much. Would submitting it back to BGS in the same slab now with a gold label ensure they would slab it with a black label? Or would I have to crack it out? Is it even worth it to re submit again?

Was it a quad 10 subgrades? That's the only way to get a black label

CSG is already backed up. HGA and RCG are the new kids on the block. I really like RCG fwiw. They are local to GA/The south FWIW. Will the be valuable going forward who knows. The entire industry is a shite show right now.

because people are just running short term scams with this shite. CSGs is set apart from the new players because they have the largest and one of the oldest parent grading companies

I'm not sure. I didn't know all 10 subgrades were a requirement.
